NORFOLK, Va. — Two people have been displaced from their home after a fire ripped through their home on Thursday evening.
Norfolk Fire-Rescue crews were called to the two-story residence on Barre Street, off of Church Street, around 5:45 p.m. for the report of a fire. When firefighters arrived, fire was coming from a window on the first floor.
Crews were able to extinguish the fire from the inside of the home, though the fire had already extended to the second floor. The fire was marked under control at 6:15 p.m.
No one was injured, Norfolk firefighters said, however a neighboring home received some damage to the exterior.
The Red Cross has been called so they can assist the two adults who were displaced from the home, Norfolk Fire-Rescue said.
