SPRINGFIELD, ORE. - Innovative new portable shelters are being tested in Springfield, offering a potential solution for the unhoused community during the winter months. These temporary structures, located near Coburg Pizza Company on Centennial Boulevard, are set to remain until March.

Bill Barnard, the supervisor for the Egan Warming Center, emphasized the value of training received from Deployed Logix crews.

"I won't say it's impossible, but it would have taken us a substantially more amount of time," Barnard said. "And just having the training and the tips and the tricks around all of the ins and outs of this entire system, it's complex, there's a lot to it, lots of moving parts."
