BORING, Ore. — A Clackamas County grand jury declined charges for a deputy who shot a man during a 911 call in November , determining that the deputy was justified in her use of deadly force.
Deputy Lindsay Bailey shot 44-year-old Daniel Dale Zimmerman during the Nov. 9 incident, when Zimmerman charged law enforcement after allegedly setting a trailer alight. Zimmerman survived and now faces criminal charges.
Deputies responded around 9:45 p.m. that night to the home of Zimmerman's father, who'd called 911 to report that his son was "out of control," the Clackamas County District Attorney's office said, and that he'd set a utility trailer on fire behind their house in Boring.
