Virgin Media has issued a statement after customers woke up without internet in Greater Manchester - hours after an outage began last night. Customers across the region have reported being without broadband this morning (December 12).
Manchester Evening News readers on Facebook reported issues in areas including Newton Heath, Pendleton, Little Hulton, Broughton, Chadderton , Middleton and Walkden . Other customers took to X and Down Detector to share their experiences.
Virgin Media says engineers have been working to resolve the issue, involving damaged fibres used in its broadband network. It says work has taken place throughout the night and continues this morning.
