The president of the state board that oversees optometrists has resigned amid reports the board circumvented state law by waiving licensure requirements for some optometry graduates as detailed Thursday in a report by the Kentucky Lantern.
It also comes as the Kentucky Optometric Association (KOA), in an email Thursday to members, called for “a comprehensive, corrective plan to address decisions made during and immediately after” the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 through mid-2022.
