COLUMBIA, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Maury County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a person was found shot overnight in a Columbia neighborhood.

Deputies were called to a shooting scene on Bluegrass Drive late Thursday night and discovered one person suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

A suspect was taken into custody, and the sheriff’s office believes no further threat to the community exists from this particular incident.

The investigation into what occurred overnight on Bluegrass Drive continues, and authorities warned that the community may see increased patrols or a heightened presence as detectives gather evidence.
