WAWAYANDA – A man who brought a knife to a road rage fight on Thursday was shot by the driver of the other vehicle, state police said. On December 11, 2025, at approximately 3:45 p.m., troopers responded to a reported shooting on Dolsontown Road near the intersection of McVeigh Road in the Town of Wawayanda.

Thirty-one-year-old Wallace Fisher of Middletown was driving his car and became involved in a road rage incident with off-duty Kingston cop Anthony Simon, 33. Police say Fisher exited his vehicle and approached Simon’s truck and began yelling at him through the driver window. Things became physical and then Fisher brandished a knife. At that point, Simon discharged his firearm, striking Fisher.
