Multnomah County has joined the list of local governments that have declared an emergency in response to the actions of federal immigration officers in the community.

Salem did the same earlier this month. Portland passed an emergency ordinance in October, and last month Hillsboro, Forest Grove, Cornelius, Woodburn and Washington County declared emergencies over ICE activity, citing “widespread fear” among residents that has led to people staying home from work and keeping their children out of school.
