GRAND COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) said a grey wolf has been rereleased in Colorado after crossing state lines.

CPW said the wolf was captured in New Mexico, and the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish was able to capture the wolf and return back it to Colorado.

Wildlife officials said the capture effort was initiated by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish in compliance with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). CPW said the agreement establishes intent that gray wolves that leave Colorado and enter Utah, Arizona or New Mexico will be relocated back to Colorado, and likewise, any Mexican wolves that leave their designated area in southern Arizona and New Mexico will be returned to their designated area.
