ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A broken-down semi-truck has led to an extended road closure in northern Colorado.

According to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP), troopers responded at 4:57 a.m. to E-470 southbound Exit at milepost 20, near Aurora, for a report of a stalled semi blocking a lane.

Troopers arrived and found that the semi was hauling drivetrain components for a windmill, which had shifted, causing the trailer to break.

CSP said the broken portion of the trailer had dragged over the road, bringing the semi to a complete stop.

No injuries were reported.

The southbound Exit 20 lane of E-470 will be shut down with an extended closure as emergency crews work to remove the semi from the road.

Troopers encourage drivers to use alternate routes.
