ELMORE, Ohio — Another northwest Ohio library system is dropping a popular free digital media service due to state funding cuts.
The Harris-Elmore Public Library and its Genoa Branch says patrons will no longer have access to the Hoopla service.
Hoopla allows patrons to download or stream movies, e-books, magazines, music, or comics from their digital devices.
According to the Ohio Library Council, as a result of a change in the way library funding is calculated in the state’s 2026-2027 budget, libraries statewide will see a drop in funding of about $25 million in 2026 compared to 2025.
