Two people have been killed in an explosion at a house in south Wales.
Emergency services raced to the scene of the blaze at Heol Fawr in Nelson, near Treharris on Friday evening. Police and fire crews from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were sent to the address after reports of an explosion shortly after 6pm in the garden of the two-storey property. Police later confirmed that two people were pronounced dead at the scene.
Those living within close proximity of the blast were urged to keep their doors and windows closed while the fire service responded to the incident, reports Wales Online . Specialist fire crews are expected to remain at the address on Saturday morning to complete a structural assessment of the property.
