Police in Newark are investigating a shots-fired incident that occurred late Friday night in the city’s South Ward.
According to preliminary information, a ShotSpotter device was activated shortly before 11 p.m. in the area of Leslie Street and Keer Avenue.
Responding officers arrived on scene and located evidence indicating that gunfire had occurred.
As of 4:30 a.m. Saturday, authorities reported no confirmed serious injuries connected to the incident.
Police secured and taped off the area while conducting a crime scene investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have not released additional details at this time. More information is expected pending an official update from the Newark Police Department.
