Kochi: The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has emerged as the clear frontrunner in Kerala’s municipal segment as counting continues in the Local Body Elections 2025 , registering a decisive performance across the state and consolidating its position ahead of next year’s Assembly polls.

According to the latest available trends, the UDF is leading in 54 municipalities, comfortably outpacing its rivals. The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) is ahead in 28 municipalities, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is ahead in two municipalities – Palakkad and Tripunithura. One municipality remains hung, with no front securing a clear majority so far.
