Detectives are investigating a shooting near Morrell Park that left a 14-year-old boy in critical condition Saturday afternoon, according to Baltimore Police Department officials.

According to police, officers were called to the 2500 block of Washington Boulevard around 3 p.m. and found a 14-year-old boy suffering a gunshot wound to the body. The victim was transported to an area hospital.

Officials say Homicide Detectives were called to the scene due to the severity of the victim’s injuries.
