RATHRUM, Idaho – The Northern Lakes Fire District planned to run a live fire training burn near Rimrock Road and Hudlow Road in the Garwood area on Saturday.

The district told people in the area to expect fire engines and support vehicles, black smoke, and increased traffic.

Travellers were asked to stay clear of Rimrock Road and Hudlow Road to allow emergency crews space to operate safely.

The district asked people not to call 911 unless they can confirm the fire is different from the scheduled training burn.

The live fire training is meant to help firefighters practice rural and wildland-urban interface fire.
