WASHINGTON ( 25News Now ) - Every year, a Washington resident uses his Christmas lights to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project , with red, white, and blue lights decorating Old Glory.
Homeowner Mike Rodcay is an Army combat veteran. He served for 31 years, including two deployments in Iraq. This is the inspiration for making his decorations about something bigger than himself, including the flag that is so meaningful to him.
“We like to look at it. Everyone knows the flag is a symbol of the United States, and we take pride in that. It enhances the display,” Rodcay said.
Rodcay believes his light-up flag is the only one of its kind in the area, since the man who made it only made one. When Rodcay got it, it took him six weeks to get it into working order. He makes upgrades ev
