MADISON COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - Heartland law enforcement recently assisted with a St. Louis homicide investigation.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Fredericktown Police Department, Cherokee Pass Fire Department, Madison County Ambulance District and Madison County 911, helped the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department – Homicide Division execute a search warrant in the county as part of the homicide investigation.

Although the suspect was already in custody in St. Louis, investigators obtained a search warrant for evidence believed to have been hidden in a remote area of Madison County.

After the search warrant was successfully executed, the sheriff’s office said the team located evidence that is expected to help conclude the investigation.
