A furious farmer who erected a massive sign criticising his "spiteful" village has riled locals once more following allegations of an unlawful tip and lorry depot on his property.

Carl Powell, 80, made headlines when he installed the billboard branding Peopleton in Worcestershire a "murderous, lawless and godforsaken place".

He was acquitted of a public order charge after officers alleged he had caused "harassment, alarm or distress" with the sign in 2021.

He has subsequently altered the cheeky message - which stands 15ft tall on a former grain dryer - now welcoming visitors to the "nicest village" and a "caring, godfearing" community.
