MADISON (WKOW) -- A power outage in Madison's South District has led to nearly 500 people without heat late Saturday evening, according to Madison police.
Authorities responded to a vehicle crash involving a power pole near W. Lakeside Street and Gilson Street at around 10:30 a.m. Saturday evening. An occupant in another vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
MG&E is currently addressing the power outage impacting about 470 residents. The outage is expected to last several hours.
With sub-zero temperatures projected in the forecast for Sunday, the Madison Marriot Hotel South at 706 John Nolen Drive is offering reduced rates for those affected.
