Study has highlights a significant lack of awareness among women regarding their risk of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD)
Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) is the number one cause of death for women globally, yet seven out of 10 women are reportedly unaware of this fact. A quarter of women mistakenly believe that CVD primarily affects men.
This lack of awareness is particularly notable among the most at-risk group: women over the age of 55. Many women perceive other conditions, such as breast or ovarian cancer, as greater health threats than CVD.
The research indicates that nearly two-thirds of women do not undergo regular health checks or screenings for CVD. Furthermore, over 80% are not taking consistent steps to monitor or reduce their associated health risks.
