A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car in Giffnock. Emergency services were called to the East Renfrewshire town on Thursday December 11. ‌

At around 7.50pm, a black Ford Fiesta and a pedestrian were involved in a collision on the A77 Fenwick Road. Emergency services attended the scene and a 76-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment. ‌

Medical staff have described his condition as "critical". Police are now appealing for information and are particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have CCTV or dash cam footage which could help their enquiries. ‌
