NEWBERRY, Fla. (WCJB) - The sound of revving engines filled the air today, but not from full-size cars. Instead, miniature remote-controlled cars took center stage at the Newberry RC Park as part of the 5th annual Toys for Tots event.
“This time of year, everyone’s looking to give something back,” said Robert Goodman, the event promoter. “It’s the generosity of people that makes this event grow with more racers and more toys each year.”
Participants entered the races by donating a toy.
“Any toys would work, even a $5 or $2 toy. We just want to give back to the community,” Goodman added.
