Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes sustained a torn ACL in his left knee Sunday and will miss the rest of the NFL season.

Mahomes was injured during the fourth quarter of Kansas City's 16-13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

The Chiefs released the following statement after the game via Twitter/X:

"An MRI has confirmed that Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes sustained a torn ACL in his left knee in today’s game. Patrick and the club are currently exploring surgical options."
