SALT LAKE CITY — Health concerns linger over this week’s possible measles exposure in southwestern Utah. Thursday, state health leaders gave everyone a better idea of what the risk means for you.

The Utah Department of Health and Human Services wants you to know that measles is extremely contagious, so it raises alarm. However, it’s unclear how many people in Utah may have been exposed and how big an area is at risk. That’s why they’re trying to get the word out.

The health department said someone from out of state came to visit family in southwestern Utah on May 26th and 27th. They weren’t vaccinated for measles and were infected with the disease . The person was out in public, visited with other unvaccinated people and may have exposed others.
