ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Two Birmingham men are facing drug trafficking charges after attempting to avoid capture in St. Clair County.
The St. Clair County Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) said Ke’yon Atkins, 20, and Raishean Garrett McCoy, 34, are both facing multiple drug trafficking charges, with additional charges of eluding police.
During the arrest, DEU officials also recovered approximately 442 grams, or 15 ounces, of methamphetamine and a loaded handgun.
Following the arrest, Akins was charged with six counts of drug trafficking while McCoy was charged with two counts.
Both men are being held in the St. Clair County Jail on a combined bond of more than $9 million.
