An eight-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a car in Glasgow's south side.

Emergency services were called to Keir Street, Pollokshields, at around 3.40pm on Thursday, August 21, following reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a car.

Officers say that the schoolboy was taken to hospital . His condition is unknown.

Images from the scene show the street taped off yesterday afternoon with emergency services at the scene. Police say enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.40pm on Thursday, 21 August, 2025, police received a report of a crash involving a male pedestrian and a car in Keir Street, Glasgow.

"Emergency services attended and the eight-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital.

"Enquiries are ongoing.”
