CHESTER, N.J. (PIX11) -- Behind every ear of corn, every jar of jam, is a farmer's story.

Farmers in and around Morris County are hoping their local Congressman takes some of those stories back with him to Washington.

"We're all just working hard to make a living," said Kurt Alstede, owner of Alstede Farms.

Republican Congressman Tom Kean, Jr., held a roundtable for farmers of the 7th Congressional District.

"The 7th is made up of a lot of family farmers," said Alstede. "It's not corporate farms."

It's home to the 2nd largest amount of farmland in any Congressional District in New Jersey.

At Alstede Farms in Chester, farmers are meeting Kean face to face in a roundtable, planting the seeds for more federal help.
