Find yourself commuting to Mobile or Gila Bend west of Maricopa over the next month? Better pack some patience.
Starting Monday, the Arizona Department of Transportation will squeeze State Route 238 down to a single lane for about 15 miles between Warren Road and milepost 24. Crews will be tackling pavement maintenance, which means the daily grind will move a little slower.
The work runs weekdays from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Sept. 18. Law enforcement will be on hand to direct traffic, so expect flaggers, bottlenecks and the occasional standstill.
Breathe deep, sip that coffee and ease off the gas. A smooth road tomorrow means a slower ride today.
