Saturday was a day for dancing in the street in downtown Columbia as thousands flocked to the annual Main St. Latin Festival.

Founded in 2003 and sponsored by the City of Columbia, Richland County, Experience Columbia SC and the South Carolina Arts Commission (among otehrs), the annual festival not only gives Latin people a chance to celebrate their own culture, but also offers those unfamiliar a taste of salsa, merengue, reggaetón and grupero music, folkloric dancers and a wide variety of food and drink including arepas, sweet plantain, jerk chicken, malteadas, empanada, pinchos and much more.

This year's music headliner was Herman Olivera, who earned a Grammy nomination for Best Salsa Album this year.
