Last remaining ferry operating on the Ohio River, serving West Virginia and Ohio, has a new captain and will reopen soon after last captain was arrested

The City of Sistersville says there's a new pilot for the last remaining ferry on this stretch of the Ohio River.

This follows the arrest of the previous captain, Thomas Meek of Sardis, in connection with a domestic incident.

The ferry shut down June 5 and has been closed since.

Now, Kevin Bunner has been hired to take the helm.

The city aims to get the ferry running again by Sept. 4, but that depends on training and radar certification.
