RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Monday morning, members of the Eta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, along with other community groups, welcomed students at Southeast Elementary School back to class with their annual Clap In.

The event gives students a warm welcome and a fresh start to the 2025-26 school year.

Southeast Elementary, located off Rock Quarry Road, serves close to 430 students.

Over 160,000 students enrolled in the Wake County Public School System headed back to school on Monday.

Four new schools have opened this school year.
