HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - A man from Holyoke was arrested and faces several drug trafficking charges after police conducted a search warrant at his home on Oak Street.

In a news release by the Holyoke Police Department, on Monday, Holyoke Detectives and DEA were granted a warrant to search the home of 35-year-old Dwayne Howlette on the 200 block of Oak Street in Holyoke. When officers arrived at approximately 5:00 p.m., they observed Howlette get into an SUV and drive away.

In an attempt to conduct a traffic stop, Howlette came to an abrupt halt and reversed, striking a DEA vehicle. He was then taken into custody. When searching the inside of the SUV, officers located and seized suspected heroin/fentanyl and cocaine.
