PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A Florida sheriff's office has arrested a man wanted in Berkshire County on child sexual assault charges stemming from alleged incidents more than four decades ago, the Berkshire DA's Office announced Thursday.

Eric Anderson was arrested on August 25 by the Manatee County Sheriff's Office on an extradition warrant issued by Berkshire prosecutors.

Anderson was indicted in April by a Berkshire Superior Court grand jury on two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, linked to incidents from June 1980. Following the indictment, the Berkshire DA's office issued an arrest warrant with limited extradition covering Virginia, Anderson's last known state of residence.
