Bob Bird of KSRM Radio Group has been named the 2025 Broadcaster of the Year by the Alaska Broadcasters Association (ABA). The award will be presented at the ABA’s Goldie Awards Banquet in Anchorage on November 7.

Bird, a longtime voice in Alaska broadcasting, was recognized for his extensive contributions to both local sports and civic discourse. Over the past year, he has continued to expand live coverage of high school football, hockey, basketball, and baseball, while also serving as the play-by-play announcer for the Kenai River Brown Bears. His work has shone a spotlight on Alaska athletes and helped preserve the tradition of live, local sports broadcasting.
