STAMFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Stamford Police Department officers arrested a man Tuesday after he was found to be in possession of an AR-15 rifle and a Glock pistol with a "switch" attachment.

According to a Facebook post from the department, officers executed a search warrant at a home in North Stamford during a firearms investigation on Tuesday.

During the search, the officers found a Palmetto State Armory AR-15 rifle with a high capacity magazine, as well as a Glock "41" .45 caliber pistol with a "switch/auto sear" attachment which allows it to discharge multiple rounds with a single trigger pull.

35-year-old Quinnel Gines was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of an assault weapon, illegal transfer of a firearm and illegal possession of a high-capacity magazine, as well
