FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Wednesday morning’s temperature of 42 at the Fort Wayne International Airport broke a 115 year-old record for the date of August 27, according to data from the National Weather Service office in Northern Indiana.

Not only did this temperature break a daily record, August 27, 2025 is tied for 5th in the top 10 lowest August temperatures ever record, with records going back to 1897. The lowest August temperature every recorded in Fort Wayne was 38 degrees, happening back in 1965.
