Nuneaton's famed generosity saw thousands donated during Nuneaton's new look carnival. Hundreds lined the streets around Attleborough and the town centre during the event on Sunday (August 24).

Changes made by the new carnival committee, including changing the procession route and bringing the old gala field events into the town centre, have received praise. Nuneaton's MP Jodie Gosling described it as an 'amazing day'.

Now the committee has revealed the grand total of money raised on the day. Some of those who took part in the procession said that £20 notes as well as bags of pennies were being put into the collection buckets
