CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KCRG) - Crews responded to a lake in Cedar Falls Thursday after receiving a report of a car submerged in the water.
At approximately 6:30 a.m., Cedar Falls Public Safety personnel responded to South Prairie Lake.
Crews arrived on scene and found the car on the north side of the lake, east of the boat ramp. Public safety personnel learned the driver of the vehicle had exited and made it safely to the shore.
The driver of the car was transported to a nearby hospital to be evaluated.
According to the Cedar Falls Police Department, the vehicle was only partially submerged, and the cabin of the car was half filled with water.
This incident remains under investigation. No other information is known at this time.
