BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) -- The city of Bloomington is offering free snow cones today to help beat the heat.
The first "Grab a Cone with Community Enhancement" event kicks off from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 28, city spokesperson Katherine Murphy said.
She said residents are invited to stop by O'Neil Park on West Chestnut Street to enjoy a free cone and bounce house. Attendees will also be able to talk to Community Enhancement Inspectors about keeping neighborhoods safe.
Those unable to attend today will be able to go to two more events, Murphy said. There will be one on Thursday, Sept. 4, at Miller Park, and another on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Tipton Park. Both events will also take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
All events are family-friendly and free to attend.
