A 17-year-old boy from Colonial Beach has been arrested after an alleged assault and carjacking.

Richmond police responded at around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday to the 300 block of Munford Street. The victim alleges that two men assaulted him while he was in the passenger seat of a parked vehicle. The men then took the keys and drove off with the vehicle.

The victim did not request treatment for his injuries.

A VCU Alert was sent out at around 1:45 a.m. asking locals to avoid the area. The original alert said the incident occurred on Belvidere Street and Broad Street. At around 2:20 a.m., police marked the incident as resolved.

The 17-year-old is charged with carjacking, with additional charges pending.
