HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Bemidji State football team started out almost as hot as you can in their game against Michigan Tech Thursday evening.
After a 49-yard kick return by junior Zavery Guerra, sophomore quarterback Connor Carver, who got the start for the Beavers, housed a designed run 25 yards for the Beavers’ first touchdown.
But after holding a 17-16 lead into the second half, BSU’s offense couldn’t get anything going, getting outscored 21-0 to lose to Michigan Tech 37-17.
“It was a tale of two halves with a lot of could’ve, should’ve and would’ves,” head coach Brent Bolte said. “The game got away from us. It’s a little frustrating with the youthfulness, but we need to learn from it. We need to get the game to slow down for them so they can go play fast and get better.”
