Norman Bassette appears to be edging closer to a move away from Coventry City amid reports that he’s in talks with Reims.

The 20-year-old striker is currently out of favour with head coach Frank Lampard who has left him out of every matchday squad so far this season.

The Belgian, who only signed for the Sky Blues last summer, could, according to European transfer specialist Sacha Tavolieri, be heading to the French second division side.

That league is familiar to the forward who came from Caen, having also enjoyed a loan spell at Belgian top flight side Mechelen.

Tavolieri claims KV Mechelen and fellow Belgian outfit Westerlo are also interested in Bassette, who is understood to be available on a season-long loan.
