NAGS HEAD, N.C. (WITN) - A man on vacation from Georgia drowned this morning on the Outer Banks.
Nags Head first responders were called to the Glidden public beach access around 10:15 a.m. for a swimmer in distress.
A 65-year-old man from Atlanta was pulled from the ocean before the first crews arrived. Despite rescue attempts, the man was pronounced dead at The Outer Banks Hospital.
Authorities have yet to determine if rip currents contributed to the man’s death.
