SELMA, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Johnston County family told ABC11 that their prayers have been answered after their 5-year-old, Holly Carter, beat a devastating diagnosis, and now they are getting ready to celebrate in a big way.
"It was rough, but she really showed her strength and came out on the better side of things," said Holly's mother, Kelsy Ross.
In February, life turned upside down for the family when Holly wasn't feeling well.
"She was in preschool, running around being a normal kid, and one day things just kind of were going downhill," Ross told ABC11. "She stopped playing, she got really pale, really clammy".

Initially, doctors thought Holly had a stomach virus, but they soon diagnosed her with stage four Burkitt lymphoma .
It was the latest challenge for Holly an
