HENDERSON, Ken. (WFIE) - Families gathered to savor one last weekend of swimming at Atkinson Pool Park.

Hosted by the City of Henderson, the Pool Bash featured live music from a DJ, swimming and slides, and food trucks and snow cones.

Admission was free for everyone.

The City of Henderson’s new Parks and Recreation Director says he thought a pool bash was the perfect way to end the season.

It’s Labor Day weekend, we’re gonna be shutting down pretty soon anyway in a couple more days, so I was like why not, let’s open up the event, do it for free, have a DJ, couple food trucks out front," says Thomas Kennedy, City of Henderson Parks and Recreation director. “Kids have been dancing, people are having a great time so it’s going really good.“
