Troy dominated the fourth quarter in a season-opening 38-20 victory over Nicholls at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday night.

Down by 10 early in the third quarter, the Trojans (1-0) outscored the Colonels 31-10 in the second half and 28-3 in the fourth. Goose Crowder accounted for three touchdowns passing and one rushing, while Tae Meadows rushed for 186 yards and another score for the home team.

After knocking off nationally ranked FCS power Incarnate Word 20-6 last week, Nicholls (1-1) looked well on its way to a second straight upset for more than a half on Saturday. Running back Miequle Brock scored twice, on a 3-yard run and a 58-yard pass from Deuce Hogan, giving the Colonels a 17-7 lead with 12:03 left in the third quarter.
