NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Metro Nashville Police Department is investigating after a fight led to a deadly shooting in the Napier area on Saturday night.

Officers responded to 87 Fain Street around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday for reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived on scene, they found 50-year-old Shereca M. Waters suffering from a gunshot wound.

Waters was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. However, she died just after 3 a.m. on Sunday.

MNPD said the investigation into the shooting shows Waters was arguing with another woman before the altercation became physical. The other woman then shot Waters.

The woman fled the scene before officers arrived, and detectives are pursuing leads in locating
