The murder of young North East mum Julie Hogg, who was tragically killed at the tender age of 22, has been revisited in the new ITV drama I Fought The Law. Julie's mother fought tirelessly for 17 years to secure justice for her daughter.

ITV is well-known for its gripping true crime dramas, with series like White House Farm and The Long Shadow attracting massive audiences over recent years.

Now, what appears to be one of the most anticipated new dramas of 2025 will enlighten millions about Julie's story and the aftermath of her death in November 1989.

This led her mother, Ann Ming, to take her fight for justice all the way to the House of Lords, resulting in a significant change to the double jeopardy law that had remained unchallenged for 800 years.
