A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a motorbike crash on Ormesby Bank. Emergency services were called to a road traffic incident on Sunday afternoon, at around 3.30pm, after the biker collided with a lamp post on the A171.

The air ambulance landed at the scene in Ormesby, Middlesbrough, but the North East Ambulance Service has confirmed the patient was taken to James Cook University Hospital by road. Police vehicles blocked off the road in both directions at Ormesby Bank, Middlesbrough , and traffic was diverted. Pictures from the scene show a number of police cars as well as an ambulance were in attendance.
